  3. Drop•Preview is a freeware drag and drop utility for preview images like PICT, JPEG, GIF and more. It automatically creates the preview for the selected file(s), folder(s) and disk(s). You can also delete or display the preview.

  5. With QuickTime 2.5, the new Graphics Importer Component allows to convert and make preview for the following file types:

  7.     Pict File:  'PICT'
  8.     JPEG File:  'JPEG', 'JFIF', '.JPG', 'JPG '
  9.     GIF File:  'GIFf', '.GIF', 'GIF '
  10.     MacPaint File:  'PNTG'
  11.     Photoshop 2.5 & 3.0 File:  '8BPS'
  12.     SGI Image File:  '.SGI'

  14. With QuickTime 2.0, only the Pict files are supported and the JPEG files if “JPEGView JFIF Preview” file is installed in the “Extensions” folder.

  16. Drop•Preview is built with BoxMaker++ by Reinder Verlinde.
  17. JPEGView JFIF Preview is distributed with JPEGView by Aaron Giles.

  35. What is BoxMaker++?

BoxMaker++ is a C++ class for building dropboxes. A dropbox is a small application under System 7, which generally is used by dropping files, folders, and/or disk icons on it. BoxMaker++ was started as a C++ implementation of ‘DropShell 1.0a’ by Leonard Rosenthol and Stephan Somogyi. During adaptation to C++ major changes were made, however. Therefore, the bugs in BoxMaker++ are ©1994, 1995 Reinder Verlinde. Any nice features may be due to either Leonard Rosenthol and co or to me.
